What is /dev/null?
/dev/null is a special device file in Unix-like systems. It’s basically a black hole. Any data written to it is immediately discarded, and any data read from it returns nothing. A useless black hole of reading and writing seemed like the perfect name for this blog.
Do you use AI to write articles?
Content is written by a human. We use AI tools to copy edit, tighten loose thoughts, find references, and maybe reword a clunky sentence or two, but we don’t use AI to compose full articles.
Can I submit my own articles?

Why did you start this?
Because most tech blogs I’ve read are overloaded with jargon, thinly veiled ads, and groupthink. I wanted to create a space where developers could talk like real people. Also, in a past life, I wanted to be a writer, but the allure of health insurance and a 401k was too strong, so now I write software.
I don’t think this site is funny!

Is this a serious tech site?
Sometimes. All articles are written by actual software developers, so make of that what you will. The satire is especially serious.
